Apple updates macOS with a redesigned design ... arriving November 12th


MacOS got a complete overhaul this year with version 11 that comes with a completely new design inspired by iOS and more, during the Mac event today, Apple revealed that the launch of macOS Big Sur will be on November 12.

This year has been unique, as Apple held three separate chapter events for the Apple Watch / iPad, iPhone and Mac, and although we usually see Apple appearing for the next major macOS update in September or October, the Big Sur release has been postponed this year. Until November to coincide with the Apple Silicon Mac event.

Alongside a major new aesthetic that brings macOS and iOS closer than ever, there's an all-new Control Center, Messages app, and Notification Center. The latter is where you'll find the new Mac gadgets that are compatible with iOS 14.

Also, another major update comes with Safari. Apple says its browser is now 2x faster when loading the page than competitors, and Safari is also gaining a new custom start page, tab improvements, a new translation feature, and a new "privacy report", as well. More features include 4K video support for YouTube in Safari and Apple Pay support in Catalyst apps
